The biggest influence on Theodoru’s work is his experience as a taxidermist during his childhood and teenage years. As classic cartoons became the love he grew up with, Theodoru developed his style by using a colorful and bright color palette for his characters while simultaneously giving them a slightly dark or twisted personality, complemented by skulls and bones along with rounded rubber hose shapes inspired by classic cartoons.

Theodoru’s personal life experience has had a major impact on his art. He was badly wounded and almost lost his life after being shot three times, yet he never lost hope - a characteristic that is fully reflected in his work. Even if his characters have sliced bloody limbs, they still look happy and give off a hopeful energy.
