Welded steel, aluminium, fabric, wood, string, cast plaster, latex, rubber, stitched suede, prosthetic eyeballs, rivets, hammer, galvanised painted cardboard
135 × 171.5 × 126cm
What at first glance appear to be found objects arranged in a freestanding sculptural assemblage are revealed, on closer inspection, as a meticulously composed entity, created out of a variety of everyday and rarefied materials. Marten’s works draw upon multiple sources, invoking the history of the readymade while also inverting that precedent through craft and modification.
