Outré, 2018

Film: Anafelle Liu Art jewellery: Vann Kwok

The project intends to document the abstract memories created from moments that we are not typically aware of, to express unspoken feelings through the narrative of colour, tactility, form and balance in the context of jewellery. It is about the recurring beauty from abstractness. The preference for capturing exquisiteness from chance has made the pieces unique and cut loose from time and place.

Vann Kwok

Vann Kwok (b.1983) is an international award-winning jewellery designer from Hong Kong. With a background in fashion design, she extends her interest towards transforming objects into various mediums of art. In 2015, she finished her MA studies in London with a contemporary jewellery collection ‘Out of Flux’, which was awarded The ITS Jewellery Prize in Italy and Jewellery Award from The Arts Foundation in the UK in 2016. Since then Kwok’s work has been exhibited in London, Venice, Trieste, Amsterdam and Antwerp. The exposure to rich cultural diversity has led Kwok to constantly question what defines her and her designs, and prompted her to use her work to embrace the past, embody the present and inspire for the future. She decides to use jewellery as a platform to discuss heritage vs innovation, man vs machine and fashion vs art.
